The Team Behind Tech Hui

Tech Hui is a conference for Students, by Students. We have great pride in what we do and want to share with you a little about ourselves. Each team member is listed along with their role on the event day.

Maddie Ollivier - Catering Manager

Maddie is a Year 13 student at Samuel Marsden Collegiate School who is actively involved in technology, languages and sports throughout her school. Having previously been involved in the organisation of Tech Hui, Maddie lead the marketing for this year’s event.

Thomas Mitchell - Speaker Manager

Tom is a Year 13 student at Wellington College and co-founder of Thumbtack Consulting ltd; a Wellington based I.T. consultancy firm. He is passionate about all things web and has played a part in building countless websites and more recently several online applications (including two with an educational focus) Previously he has worked for his College and a Ministry of Education student team, both in part time advisory roles. Tomʼs experience has lead him into the role of Coordinator for this years Tech Hui

Matt Renner - Stage Manager

Matt is a Year 13 at Scots College. Working with Tom and Shane, as the Associate Director of Thumbtack Consulting, He has been getting the 1’s and 0’s in line since ages ago, and more recently turned his attention to the power of the Web to fuel his IT addiction. When not delving into the code to uphold his reputation as Mr Fixit, Matt can be found either competing on a sports field or hanging from a scaffold putting up stage lights.

Shane Allison - Event Manager

Shane is a year 13 student at Wellington College and co-founder and Director of Thumbtack Consulting a Wellington based IT firm. With a passion for technology and business life can be busy but the important thing is not missing out on the fun bits of life - Studying, Walking, Study... or maybe just partying.

Georgie Gallagher - Registrations Manager

Georgie is a Year 13 student at Wellington Girls’ College. She is a member of the Digital and Information Literacy Committee and is Head of Tech Angels. She loves all things IT and is passionate about passing her knowledge onto others. Georgie has played support and advisory roles at various IT conferences on a number of topics over the past three years and thus brings a range of skills to Tech Hui.
